Vanuatu celebrations for International Day of Forests 2019

The Department of Forests Vanuatu celebrated the International Day of Forests with a series of nation-wide activities. All provinces in Vanuatu participated in celebrating the International Day of Forests with activities facilitated by the staff at the Forestry Stations nation-wide.

In the capital, Port Vila, the highlight of the day was a panel discussion that brought together key stakeholders of the Forest Sector. The panel discussion was aired live on Vanuatu’s Radio Capital FM 107 with the show hosted and moderated by Moses Stevens, Port Vila Councillor.

The theme of the panel discussion was based on this year’s theme ‘ Forests and Education’ for Sustainable Forests Management (SFM) and the following were members of the panel discussion.
